If there were major starfaring races out there in our galaxy it’s likely that we would have detected something so far b/c given our trajectory it’s likely that other advanced civilizations would quickly go from planet-bound to star-faring to massive engineering projects like Dyson Spheres, etc., which we’d be able to detect in some manner by now.
